Dennis,

Do you have your pictures on a off site like Photobucket? If so, very easy I'll walk you through it.

anyone on this site fit that discription?

Are you the Northstar that was building with the Northstar engine and found it needed replacing? If so I too enjoyed keeping up with your build. I thought about going fuel injected.

Have you gotten any further with your top? I was thinking of doing mine some time but it'll be long since I have a Touring. And since I dont have a drivers door I was thinking of making it into a flip type that way everyone can get in and out with no big hassle.

Hi Wayne. yep. that would be me. I'm still working out the bugs in the new engine, but it's coming along bit by bit. not sure where I went wrong in my karma bank, but the project was clicking along like clockwork until just a month or so ago. now I can't seem to get a break on even the smallest detail. I keep plugging away and thinking positive thoughts however.:D
glad to see you here as well!! always enjoy your posts!

Russ

PS: nope. no further on the top yet. I'm waiting for a new Griffin radiator to come in so I'll feel more comfortable driving the car to the upholstery shop. don't want to chance hurting the new motor you know.

Russ,

Don't tell me you used to hang glide also? I was the Seagull dealer in Sacramento about 25 years ago. This is just too cool. Where did you used to fly? For me, Reno, Clear Lake, Fort Funston, Big Sur.

Reference to hurting the motor...I didn't wait for a new Aluminum radiator and heated the 406 to much that either I cracked a head or the block. I bought my radiator from ebay from Champion Radiator and it fit perfectly and cools great. Even with the messed up 406 it'd still run 160 and below compared to the 200+

You've been hanging around Ted too long Bob. you're catching that CRS thing he keeps talking about. :) You and I discussed the HG thing a long time ago. ha ha. We have many home sites and travel to Lakeview for XC, as well as Torry Pines, Crestline, Marshal, and of course the E in So Cal. The E team (Lake Elsenore) was always a blast. We stopped at Torry on our recent trip, but it was really depressing. PG has taken over the site, as they have many other places, and all the old timer HG guys are packing it in in discust. there was not ONE HG rack in the Torry parking lot. :( So you flew Funston eh?? Did you go to the "safety meeting" under the bleachers before flying. :D:D

Ouch! ya, I read some of your saga on the cracked [block/head]. so you're ok with it now though?? I remember back in high school I cracked a 327 block (low anti-freeze). pored a can of pepper in the radiator and it sealed it up for a couple months wile I saved up for a new block. :)

Never did the safety meeting, but can tell you first hand that some of the Funston pilots should have taken a briefing at Clear Lake. The "Funston Two Step" doesn't always cut it for hot inland mountain launches. Saw my share of bent down tubes. Since you fly Elsinore you might be familar with where I have a place, the Glen Eden Resort. If you know about GE, please don't blow my cover LOL.

yeah I now have a 350 in the car and it seems to run fine. I still haven't taken the 406 apart yet to see exactly what it is. Nor have I taken the 327 apart yet either. The 327 I believe I may have reved to high playing. But hey build another and keep trucking.

You didn't mean the "pass the *****" safety meeting? If so, I did not that either.

We all know my ride is filler for all the (nice) cars. I got my 4 speed in and ready to drive anywear on the plannet! Make plans to go, You won't be dissapointed. Deck, it will be great to meet you, and Wayne, Hope all the family and you and any of your club will arrive also.

Dennis,

That is ironic, I just PULLED my 4 speed out. The new motor is making 516 lb/ft@2800, and that little Muncie would not have liked that for long. In the process of shoehorning a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed in its place.

Sounds like you're planning to be at the Bash! Wow, that has to be 2000+ mile one way trip for you.

We missed it last year, but are planning to be there this year. What day are you planning to get there? There are cruises going on just about every day and something to do every evening starting on the Sunday before the main show. We had a blast in 2009.

I'll be arriving the night before the 1st day's activities. It is just a tad over 2000 miles from NorCal, but I'll head down to the SoCal vacation residence and then take off from there. A little of 1000 miles to the 1st stop in Texas (for the 1000 mile award NTBA) and then about 650 miles the 2nd day (3rd if you count NorCal to SoCal)to MH.
