Was wondering if anyone could tell me if there's a difference between the vega boxes sold by Flaming River or Borgeson and other companies for $350.00 or so dollars. I think theyhave a 22 to 1 ratio----And the steering boxes that are found on e-bay for $150.00. They say they have ratio of 20 to 1. These are also sold by Pirate Jack Auto Parts in some of the magazines. Both say they are new. Any advice would be helpful.

If it says it is new and it is a vega box it should be fine....i am sure they are knock offs of the flaming river.

You may want to inquire where the boxes were made. I always use real Vega boxes. I figure most Vega's didn't run long enough to wear them out and I am pretty sure they were Made In THe USA.
The ratio can be adjusted somewhat by the length of the pitman arm on the box and length of the steering arm on the spindle.
The ratio will change the amount of effort that it takes to turn the wheel.
