View Full Version : SB Ford/T5 in Bucket?

Hi all. I am a new member and I have always love shifting for myself. Now that I am planning a T project, I want to put a manual trans in it. I plan on going with a 302 SBF based block and a T5 transmission to keep it "all Ford"..... I have only seen one T with a manual trans and it was a flathead and a saginaw. Any ideas on this set-up? Where can I get pedals? This trans has no linkage, so I think i'll have room. Thanks....

I built the bucket with the flathhead and the Saginaw. I bought an extra brake pedal from Spirit with my kit. I extended the pedal pivot stud welded to the frame and put both pedals on the stud. I built some bracing out of 1/8" steel strap to brace the inboard end of the stud to the trans mount and the frame and added a pull linkage from the pedal to the throw out arm on the bellhousing. I drilled out the pedal pivot holes and inserted bronze bushings. I built pedal pad mounts from some angle iron and bolted them to the pedals to get extra space between the pads.

I had to experiment some with where to attach the pull linkage to the clutch pedal to get full travel and a light pedal. The system works very well with little pedal effort and no chatter.

I will be at the Bash this summer and would be glad to let you see how everything fits together.

I appreciate the input. I noticed in Speedway's catalog they have a clutch pedal/brake pedal assy. I might give them a call?
