Hello all,

In a Spirit 27 T, what is a cheaper option for a steering column that a Flaming River (or other) that I can use? Is anyone using a GM column without too many modifications?

Thanks for any help.

I have had luck in using a GM column from a van, it works well with a vega steering box.
It will also save some dough on more important items. Flaming River's are not cheap...

I have a Cavalier column in mine, Shirley has one from an Impala and the Tub I'm working on has an S10 column. Dare to be different.

I picked up an older (mid 70's) collum at a swap meet from a ford truck for 15 bucks. It was a little long so I had to cut it to length and weld a U joint to it. It has a turn signal switch and no key switch so its nice and clean, found a steering wheel adapter for 13 bucks at speed way, so the horn button works and added a new steering wheel. all together the whole thing cost me under 50 bucks. :)

i used a 1999 corvette column with tilt, headlight switch and turn signal.
