![]() Hello guy's,
I have a Total Performance bucket. After building the car I installed a battery kill switch. If I leave the kill switch on my battery will go dead. Can someone tell me what the most common open ground would be or what to look for? Thanks for any help. Soapster |

![]() Hook a test light between the positive battery terminal and the positive cable after you remove it [cable] from the battery. Start pulling fuses one at a time and determine which circuit it is and repair as necessary. The test light should light up if there is a drain on the battery when the cable is disconnected and the test light in between the battery and the cable.
If you don't have fuses, start unplugging components one at a time until light goes out. Good luck!

![]() I found the problem. My meter shows 3.28 when I unplug my alternator I show 0.00. How do I stop my alternator for having an open ground. The plug that plugs into the alt. is red& yellow. Below that is a post with 2- yellow wires.
Thanks |

![]() If the alternator is the right one and its wired correctly you may have a bad diode plate in the alternator
the diode plate among other things only allows current to flow in one direction. so when you have a bad diode on the plate it allows current to flow to ground when the ignition switch is off. hope this helps frank |

![]() T-Bucket Tech is in the top header of the page along with Buckethead Bash Forums and Bucket Stuff. I've just noticed that it doesn't come up with every thread. Maybe Josh can sort it out. Or just go to the search feature and type in Tech Pages.
