If that's a Spirit body and frame, you should probably e-mail Josh directly for advice on the build.

We use a flaming river tilt column. We use a 2.5 inch drop and the diameter of the column is 2"

I am running a Speedway straight column. I made my drop from a 60hp flathead con rod. Fit good with room for a rubber bushing.

I think Spirit had a video on how they fiberglassed a piece of something behind the dash face to mount/bolt the column drop to. CRS

Lee, I did the same as you, but used an aluminum racing rod that was out of specks for racing.

There is a square bar support just behind the dash on my 29. That is what I mounted the drop to.

The flathead rod column support is pretty nice Thanks for all the advice I've decided to do a little fiberglass work on the back side of the dash and make a drop . Spirit did the base support so my column angle has already been determined Might give the conn rod a shot
